Totally understand I contacted not representing anyone but enquiring if the 240z were represented at all. I have had a reply saying much the same as on here. Not that they have mentioned the z club but do say the z register have a stand. I had enquired re the E type representation as I have an interest there also. As I expected the alloting of club stands happened in April I was told.

Good show - but £25 to get in? Then about another £8 to park (which is a ruddy cheek in my book). Makes it an expensive day out by the time you've added in your petrol and buying lunch which, surprise surprise, is also very expensive in there for what you get.

So if two of you go, even without the petrol costs/m-way toll if you go that way/lunch or indeed anything you buy while you are there (and who can resist?), it will cost you £60 just to park and get in! It's a joke and, while a good show, not value for money. Entrance fee should be a max £10 in my opinion.

Hi Rob.
Good to see you at the AGM.
Guess the somewhat negative feed back from the 2004 NEC Classic Car Show! works wonders to
stifle out the flame of enthusiasm (briefly re-kindled at Gaydon on October the seventh) for another try at it.
Question is do we still pursue it for 2013 and give ourselves plenty of time to organize and prepare.
Yes! there is always a cost attached but we could use some of the available club funds toward negating this to those members prepared to show their cars and man the stand over a weekend.
Presumably car shows have moved on since 2004 with a new breed of enthusiasts.

Car parking at NEC is now 10 quid. If you leave after 6pm you can often get away with it. the barriers are left open.
If you are showing a car or part of a club maning the stand, you would normally be entitled to a free pass
obtainable from the organizers.

I would love to see the zclub at the NEC next year and would happly donate my car, and if it was there a day of my time babysitting the stand I'm sure there are others who would do the same. Also would be a good advertisement to potential new members who either own a zed but are not aware of the club or people looking for a classic car and have gone there to get ideas.

DAZ260 ? Don't we know that car ?

It's ages ago but we put on a super stand there back in '91 and even then the CZR had Nissan money and show equipment.

Perhaps you should consider sharing a stand with another (s) Japanese car club to reduce costs and attract more people onto the stand ? Old Mazdas, Toyotas ?

And if people want to go for less, be part of a stand, give some time and effort in exchange for £60s worth of entrance and parking - take sanwiches and spend 'queuing and eating' time on the stand.

It certainly looks like the CZR doesn't have much money with just a flag taped to the floor - it obviously is thier major event of the year wheras our club has Japfest and others....driving events which are what Zs are all about !
