Out of interest, where did you hear/read the 'two factory' story?

Just picked it up along the way, probably from a US forum and I know, don't believe all you read on the net, my post included now ;)

Did seem a plausible explanation though as in 1977 more S30 models were produced than any other single year 1969/78 so one could imagine another factory being utilised to meet higher demand but obviously not as you have stated.

Extra wide carbon flares have turned up, meaning I can get on with marking and cutting the arches to suit (sorry purists)

Happy Christmas, hope you had a good one?
I did think about converting to RHD, but to be honest I don’t mind driving a left hooker, and thought the time and money would be better spent elsewhere on the project

Bit of progress finally, test fitted the flares, they fit very well, and cut the arches to suit. The 2 skins have been welded back together too. Julian, a recommendation from a good friend has made a start on the major repairs needed, drivers side floor now in, bonnet hinge area repaired and offside rear quarter repaired inside and out. The zed is starting to look less like one of Fred Flintstone’s castoffs now

Looks like you got a fair bit of welding done there. It's moving on.

All major repairs now done, a couple of weekends finishing some bits off and the seam welding to finish and it’ll be ready to go back to pro strip for a final clean and primer dip

Well, looks like I’m overdue a catch up on here.
The car is now painted underneath and also did the inside and engine bay. She’s sat on bc coilovers, poly bushed all round etc. Got a couple more jobs to do before she goes for paint, such as finish the brackets for the Frp bumpers and cavity protect the frame rails etc
