It's a nice skill to have and you'll have lots of fun doing it ...

I spent hours and hours welding my Ford Anglia and first Datsun (the one that's for sale at Race Retro). However that was all oxyacetylene. I have MiG welded but not done much.

So onwards and upwards. There are no major jobs lined-up at the moment.

Well 13A migs is nice but it’s all so nice to do bigger stuff 1/2” for brackets and alike. I installed a 32A socket in the garage and got a bigger mig.

get yourself an account with BOC and ask for the volkzone deal which will get you a massive bottle at half the price.
although that does depend on how much your going to use it?

thats what im using.
if you prepare the metal well with v`d edges and enough root gap you can weld much thicker steel.
i made a hydraulic press using 150amp welder, so far its withstood 10tons pushing it apart.
