Manx Rally Success

Dominic Frattaroli has just finished 3rd overall and 1st in Class C4 on this year's Manx Historic Rally, probably the most famous and challenging tarmac rally in the programme.
The only Z in the event, Dominic was lying 7th after Thursday's evenings wet & misty stages but gradually pulled up to 4th during Friday's full day of rallying, setting fastest times on a number of stages.
A high speed roll by ex Ford works driver David Stokes then moved Dominic and his co-driver Wyn Thomas up to 3rd.
They lost over 2 minutes on the final stage ( I do not know why yet) but had enough of a gap to hold on to 3rd overall and the class win.
First and second overall were the Mk 1 Escorts of Steve Smith and Historic Championship sponsor Richard Gower.

Congratulations Dominic, this is what a Z's built for. Who needs trick bits! Hope you polished it after the finish!

Well done -Dominic ! You're doing justice to Daves' work, it almost makes up for the time he's hasn't been able to spend doing mine !

I heard today that Dominic's problem on the last stage was with the clutch. They just managed to nurse it through the stage, hanging onto their 3rd place by a matter of a few seconds, and also only just made it back to the actual finish of the event.

Well done Dominic, for keeping it on the island and avoiding those "mobile telegraph poles"!!
Of course Dave Jarman deserves full credit for a superb engine, but since neither the car or the engine has been back to Dave's workshop this year Sean, you cant blame any delays with your car on Dominic or his car!
It also has to be said that apart from Dominics skill and now the added skills of the flying Welshman in the co drivers seat much of the cars success is down to Dominics little known rally engineer Lawrence Evans of Motormec in Leics.
Nigel Brook is one other wise man who is currently availing himself of Lawrences skills. I look forward to seeing you out soon Nigel.
Just watch this forum for futher news of cars from the Motormec stable.

Thanks Pete
I was referring to the delays caused LAST year - my car has not been in Daves' this year - it's still waiting to be painted !!!
And I would hope that the car/engine didn't need another overhaul in mid-season ! Keep on rocking Dominic and give those bl**dy Escorts one from me too !
