Yeah it’s only an hours work and for wot it costs it’s well worth it as it rots from the inside out rather than the other way, another good upgrade is the bushes, all the little things all add up to make it just that little bit better
Enjoy
Bushes tend to be the first to go, especially if around any oil deposits. Planning on keeping it as original as possible and I’m assuming the air filter has been painted so just need to do research (apparently the front badge is wrong as well).
Be a nice change from playing with a Triumph TRs.

'Status' - good cars fetch the money. They stand out for not being messed with or modified and if that's what you want you pay for it.

Quick update.
The car has had a thorough going over and all fluids flushed and re-filled, new filters and plugs. Had a new set of Bridgestone tyres fitted and sailed through a new MOT today with no advisories. There’s a few jobs to do, but nothing major (could do with a new front damper, replacement clutch slave cylinder, and a couple of bushes need replacing).
The body is rust free and totally clean everywhere underneath.
It’s now gone to a detailing company to have the original paintwork cleaned up, and hopefully with me next week. Can’t wait.
Oh, and will be re-doing the rust proofing as well, filling every cavity to ensure it stays rust free.

Very very nice car chap - it looks spotless!! Well done there.

Without reading the whole thread, the only other word of advice I would offer is replace ALL fuel lines as the rubber from the 80s wouldn’t stand up well to the new fuel ethanol blend. The rubber itself would likely have gone hard. Also the last thing you want it carbs / fuel lines to carbs leaking over a hot manifold.

Liking the fact that you have one of the last 260Zs made.

I feel very excited for you!!
