So taking a title from a C4 programme........its strange how in life events happen and suddenly you have to make decisions not previously remotely considered.

1. For the past year my wife has been looking to change her 2007 Mini Cooper S R56 for something else such as a Subaru BRZ, Fiat 124, Mazda MX5 RF, BMW Z4 Roadster or Coupe. No comments please on why this list :)
2. In early December some dumpty managed to hit the car whilst parked in such a way that the rear offside wheel took the brunt and the car was written off due to a repair bill of around £5K. This focused the search for a replacement just before Xmas, great
3. She finally opted for a 2008 Z4 3.0i Coupe Auto E86 with probably the last of the great non aspirated 3 litre straight sixes coupled with a strong (non DCT) 6 speed auto box; all within a well looked after 57K miles example. Oh and its Red.

So the dilemma I now find myself in is that Dizzy my 1979 280zx now seems a little redundant as the Z4 is also a great car to drive and I found myself driving it down to the Haynes muesum last week instead of taking Dizzy and didnt realise this until I got to Shepton Mallet; no idea why.

I am now concerned that Dizzy will get less use (which due to Covid has already been cut back) and I will inevitably end up selling her and either going without a classic or getting a ragtop of some description which at least would be a different car to the Z4.

Has anyone any advice or faced a similar dilemma.....................love it or list it!

Have you checked with your wife that your going to be able to use her z4 whenever you fancy? Best keep the Z handy just in case.

If you are having doubts then the love affair is over.

List it for good money and see if it sells.

Anyway, what is a "great non aspirated 3 litre straight six" ?

Sell Dizzy and buy something sensible like a Dacia 1.5dci.

I sold my Z 4 M coupe back in August as no where to go due to wots going on and it was 25 k sitting there doing nothing,Great car and one of the best looking coupes out there, mine was slightly earlier than yours on an 07 plate with the 3.2 engine another reason is ive got two scoobies A blob sti and a JDM wagon both low mileage cars and I preferred driving them a they always put a smile on my face and have risen in value by quite a bit,This year I’ll ge my 260 Z rolling roaded and enjoy that a bit more as it has a 3.1 Rebello in it ,I did look at a 280zx T-Top but decided against it

Nice garage, we looked at a couple of 4M's but for the money we wanted to spend couldn't really find a reasonable example without getting into high mileage cars. The other car in my garage is a 1937 Austin 7 Ruby, I suppose I could put the Daizzy engine in that and see what happens...:):):)
