Looking at a 260Z 2+2 this weekend, anyone know it?

Nope, there be holes! I'm hoping the holes for the current badge match those for the correct badge, will possibly get time to check tomorrow. I've got the correct badge so when I get a chance I'll check. Also got a standard wheel, just waiting for a couple of parts before I can try it out. Alternatively I have a couple of wheels I can try out on the current boss.

Stripped the engine bay light down to it's component parts today ready for a respray and rebuild. The original switch was broken so I'll replace that with a spare toggle switch from my spares. Standard finish is obviously gold zinc plate, mine was corroded and painted so I'll just pick a colour for the repaint.

Discovered what I assume is the original gear knob in a box in the boot, so I replaced the wooden Motolita one with it, I prefer the leather to the wood. No pic but it's black leather with a red 'badge' showing the gear change gate.

Whilst checking the spare wheel I discovered the luggage straps tucked away underneath it, so they're now fitted properly.

I was going to replace the broken Motolita wheel with one of my old ones but the leather on it is knackered so I'll live with it for now until the remaining parts for the standard wheel arrive. Might have a go at stitching new leather onto the wheel.

Don't bother with the kit up on ebay - I've tried it and it sucks ! Either bite the bullet and get it professionaly redone or fit another wheel including a 240Z version.

Having shelled out for the car I'm trying to cut back on spending on my toys for a while. The standard wheel will be going on once a couple of missing parts arrive.

The eBay kits I've seen are too wide meaning the edges would overlap. You're right Sean, a pro job or buy another. Very nice 240Z wood wheel on eBay but £325 is a bit steep, also a 260Z one for £280 which is also a bit much. Current plan is to get the missing bits so I can fit the standard wheel until I can afford a new wheel or restore this one.

Got a sew on leather kit of eBay for £5. Spent the evening sewing it onto a spare Motolita wheel directly over the original (knackered) leather. For a first attempt I'm quite pleased with the overall result.
