Not sure that it's too dear !

Good Zs are getting harder to find - a lot of time and energy now needs to be spent finding a good one my friend.

another aspect i keep forgetting is the poor exchange rate against the dollar.
when i imported mine is was a steal at two dollars a pound.

He states that the car will be tax exempt, not sure if this is correct - I think the law has changed now with regards to imported classic vehicles.

Looks like a nice car though and worth the money if solid and rust free.

as far as i am aware the law has not changed on historic vehicles ,just on new cars.

at least if they get it UK registered it will come with 12 months mot and road tax :D

Less than five grand for what appears to be a straight 240 that will be UK registered and hopefully MOT'd, insurable, taxable if required, and ready for the summer? Am I being stupid or is that cheap, beautiful and unique summer fun for one lucky punter? Seller seems to have sold many Land Rover boot bags...hmmm...

There is no mention of a reserve so the opening bid maybe the winning bid!

like anything on ebay when spending over a certain amount it is best to go and have a look first, but as it stands it seems to be very good buy at the moment,if i was in the market for one i would be having a look at this .................

it could be a good buy, say it sells for £6000 and it is rust free, i would be very surprised , but if it wants spraying thats a total strip down and £££££ later, not to mention all the little things that tend to be lost, like he says will come with 12 months MOT if it has yank lights on these will all need changing to pass, if he has not changed them beware, so hes got to get euro lights, also the wireing will be wrong and require altering remember there brake lights flash as well as the indicators, then its £50 to register it in the uk and obtain a licence plate, has he took all this work into the equation, or does he think it was ok in the states so it will be ok here, its the little things on these cars that cost,

forgot to mention on an import you have to MOT the car before you can register the car, on the first mot they state the chassis number instead of the registration number, still if it comes with an mot and registered for around £6000 a bloody good buy for someone,

This car would appear to be a reasonable buy, shipping and import duty on a US$4000 car would bring the total to approx GB£5000. I'm currently looking to import a rust free car from AZ/S.California, this car could save some time and hassle if straight and genuine. Is the internal/engine bay colour correct for the external colour? I've seen this colour combination before on US cars, but am unsure as to whether it's factory spec or the owner trying to erase a 70's chocolate brown!

you have to MOT,insure and tax a car when getting a UK registration and it is possible to pass a MOT with yank lights,at the end of the day it has to be road legal to pass a MOT test and there are plenty of yank cars driving round with red indicators .

Mike the guy who owned my car before me ran it for several years with the yank rear lights fitted, each year it was always mot'ed at the same garage in the village but at the last mot he had done on the car they failed it on the red lenses, so he painted the bulbs orange & fitted them in the reversing light position, they then passed it !!!!

when i imported my 240z i was told by the test centre to get rid of the red lights as it was a fail, i know there are plenty of yank cars with red indicators on and i told them this, and they said because its a datsun its not an american car so should not have red indicators on, it made sense of what he said so i swopped them, it would be interresting to know what the law says regarding this,

My 240 has had all red lenses and passed its MOT every year..... until it was noticed last year .

Had to change them for euro spec with an amber indicator light.

Think the car has to be pre- 1965 (?) to retain combined red lights:unsure:

What about reversing lights? everytime I have an MOT (always at the same garage) they check rev lights work.
