Nice chatting with you Rob H ! Looking forward to seeing you in the custom Z !

I'm not sure (this is just a wild unconfirmed rumour) but maybe, just maybe our club tickets don't include paddock acess ! I shall of course try to confirm that this is NOT the case and will in any event create a scandal but if it is then I have a cunning plan. I have a few ACO passes that do have paddock access and we'd need to share these in turns to gander closely at those cars we love !

We can organise that Friday evening !

The other thing is that I can't see any specific mention of tribune (grandstand) passes which I'm also trying to sort out.

Please bear with me and understand that all has been ordered but that the organisation at 'Peters' end this year has been shi*e !

Thankyou for your understanding and be assured that we'll have a great weekend whatever !

I went past the camping site this morning and there were already 20 odd tents up ! Poor bastards had a wet day though !

But it does mean that the earlier everyone gets down, the easier it'll be to have a space together and easier for those getting down earlier to 'defend' enough space for the rest of us !

Get down, pitch your tents then go shopping but leave some people on the site !;)

Bit like the Germans and sunbeds! What happened to the 'numbered' pitch allocation, do we have a plan?

So Sean have you had access to Paddock and Grandstand before ok with these type of tickets?

Sounds like you live really close to the circuit Sean, how far away are you?

John did bring his Z and had so much trouble with it on two occasions that it hasn't appeared since - I believe he came dwon in a Skyline thereafter !

How much do you lot pay for a bottle of Lansons' at Le Mans ? I can get extremely good, drinkable champers for €12 a bottle.

Lastly, I was referring to someone racing a competitive Z at Le Mans Classic - the one entered this year is a road car !

See you next year Tony.:)

Yup, he's brought the 'liner a couple of times. Now sold and replaced by a Caterham R400 superlight nuttermachine. Very quick but last year it was permanently full of water!

Lanson was expensive but I bought a few bottles at Carrefour (Mercier?) which was only about 16 euros a bottle so we demolished a couple of those before we went to the champagne tent. It really softens the financial blow if you can do that. 12 euros is a real bargain though!

Next year hopeful. Have already paid deposits and am told we'll be in the same spot by the Porsche Curves. However, it's difficult 'cos it means I'll be away on Father's Day (again) and I'll miss my daughter's stage show (again), so LM isn't very popular with my family! I may have to skip a year :-(

As an aside, a good sized party tent is a real bonus. My LM24 crowd take two - a 9mx3m and a 6mx4m - and arrange them in a "T" shape with freezers/tables etc in one bit and seating in the other. They're good on a hot day and worth their weight in gold if it's wet! Only problem is the size as a Z is a bit crap for carrying lots of kit. To do it best you need a "support vehicle" transit van.

Have fun!

Tony

With these tickets - yes I have and the last time was eventful as I drove a Z into the paddocks - that of the famous Dirk Swift (with a face you'll want to forget) who'll be joining us again this, year with his trusty brother ! I was literally just behind the Grandstand garages (see photo)

By the way Sean, I saw a silver/blue (I think) 280ZX in Arnage during the LM24. Can't remember what I was in - either my X5 or the A-team van - but that wasn't you was it????

Nickknox, see post number 130 for map. Camping at bottom (Karting Nord), cars on stand 14 - most of Sat and Sun.

Hope to see you.

Think there will be at least 10 Zeds. Quite a few people are Zedless!

More than that as there are Zs coming from France and Belgium too !

I have a club stand pass (for the Saturday and Sunday) going Nickknox if you care to join us. We need to meet up which means you coming to me  as I've too much to organise to quit the camping Thursday or Friday nights.

My tel. no. is on my signature, just replace the '0' with the access code for France !

Tony, a bottle of Mumms' in the supermarkets retails at €23.50 (£19 ?) - I couldn't see Lansons black label !

No, I drive a 240Z ! A yellow one..... There was a blue 240Z there (see photo) !

Latest weather report :

tomorrow - showers in the afternoon high of 25°c low of 15

Friday - showers on and off all day high of 20°c low of 13

Saturday - showers in the afternoon high of 20°c low of 13

Sunday - dry and sunny high of 21°c low of 8 !!!

Monday - dry and sunny high of 23°c low of 12

This can all change and even arrive quicker, depending upon the wind speed ! It may well end up being glorious forthe whole weekend !

I forgot to say that I shall be staying at the campsite Thursday night now !

BBQ time but I won't have much time spare to buy and food so if someone, or some people get the goods, maybe we can split the cost between us !

I hope to be there 5ish and will have all the tickets with me so you'll have time to pass by the hypermarket !

I will still have to drive up to and back from Caen Friday - back on the campsite Friday around 19:00 - maybe earlier so someone will have to light the BBQ Friday night. I'll be bringing some wood with me so we can have a roaring fire to drink around and take the pis* out of people and their cars who aren't there.........and maybe some who are !;)

See you tomorrow guys. Arriving 8pm and have enough rations to not need a call at the hypermarket tomorrow. Only got a few beers though so do I need to buy some or are the drinks organised Sean?

I won't be on my PC (like you rabble) from tomorrow morning 06:30 onwards so after that, you'll need to telephone to get me !

Sean, tomorrow we need to just get 'pitched' and sheltered and everyone look afer themselves. We can have a beer together but no need for a banquet surely.

Saw the 'Tour' today and the weather was brilliant, hope we get some of that:thumbs:
