Late 280zx brake mast cylinder connections.

I have fitted the above master cylinder to one of my zeds and notice the F/R connections are the other way round. Does anyone know if this is critical and why they are the opposite way to the early cars. does one circuit build pressure before the other? I'm trying to reason how best to connect it based on the fact that I'm running 12w+8 on the fronts and drums on the back which is completely different to a late 280zx anyway.

Not sure why but I had to swap front and rear lines over when I went to a BM44 master cyl (nissan Sylvia non abs) in my 83 ZX. I wonder if the later models ZXs were the odd ones as the master cylinder was from a much newer car?

So John, your front reservoir is actually at the front then on the later MC?

I thought that the pressure was built-up for the fronts first and hence why that cylinder is nearer the pedal.

Off the top of my head I would think it wise to swap over as niroshan has but like you I'd want to know why.

Found this but haven't read it all:

Only the earliest S30 master cylinders had the front actuating system furthest away from the servo. Later Tokico and Nabco cylinders are as you would expect - front system acts before the rear. As the earliest cylinders are no longer available, any swap on an early car will mean swapping the brake lines around to the appropriate front/rear ports.
