L20E Tuning Suppliers

Hi All

I’m thinking about tuning my L20E motor and wondering how much power can actually be dragged out of it with the right engineering?

I’ve looked round the forum and have come across ‘Kameari Engine Works’ for oversize pistons, so a rebore could be on the cards. Is there any reason not to fit a 240z crankshaft as well?

Headwork will also be a given, gas flowed and possibly skimmed, can anyone point me in the direction of someone who can supply a decent fast road cam?

Has anyone come across supercharging ‘L’ series motors, I know turbos have been done, but just love a supercharger.

Thanks

6 cylinder L20?
Kameari make nice stuff, including cams and the things you need to go with them.
In the UK, Kent cams will regrind your existing cam to any of their profiles you choose.
In either case, you'll have to figure out springs and lash pads.

With enough money spent you can probably get close to 200bhp NA, assuming it cam be modified in similar ways to the L24 and L28.

I don't know of any supercharger setups, but sure one could be developed with lots of effort and or money!

Awesome thank you, I had no idea Kent cams will do that, and yes it is the 6 pot L20 fuel injected engine.

How does it work with the language barrier with Kameari, the only information I can see from them is in Japanese?

You can email them direct, in English, you’ll get a reply in English. it actually ends up costing the same or less than getting bits from the Uk, or pistons were £300less than getting something in the Uk.
In your situation it’d be the best place for l20a stuff, given they can sell you a package of parts that’ll work together

Only thing I'd add is ask him if he'll send FedEx rather than EMS. FedEx cost a bit more at origin but don't mess you around like parcel force do on this end with EMS.
