Just bought a Z31, so Hi everyone

If it was my car, I'd just stay quiet, out of sight out of mind, especially as the car has been running around like that for so long, the only person who's going to lose out is you CrashCourse.

A "Q" plate renders a car virtually worthless in many peoples eyes, as long as its safe and has a justifiable MOT enjoy it for what it is.

That's my 2 pennies worth anyway!

Surely a Q plate car is worth more than one without a real ID?

It will NOT pass an MOT as it has no stamped in VIN number. The only route is to get Vosa/DVLA to Restamp it and update the DVLA records. Trouble is as someone said, they will probably keep it for a while to examine it. Its a dam pity as its a rare turbo model but maybe worth getting it legit!

Many thanks guys, for the help and advice that you've imparted on my current situation

Yes, I could have said nothing and run the car as an '84 normally aspirated 300ZX, but as I have learned from you that it is in fact an '87 manual turbo model - I would like to try to put it on the road (eventually) as such - if at all possible.

The police, as I said earlier, are really not interested. I think that the big task will be trying to get a result (in my favour) from DVLA - I'm going to give it a bash anyway :smash: and I have a friend who works in VOSA, so I may call upon his help if things get tough.

Anyways, today I washed the car, cleaned out the boot and jump started her (the Zed - not the wife), the engine sounds fine, the exhaust note .....great :D
Mindful of the uncertain future of the car, I'll restrict myself to cleaning, basic maintenance....... and playing with the pop-up headlights.

I forgot to take any photos today but here's some from a couple of nights ago.

Once again.........................THANK YOU !
