I have just bought an 1981 280zx, it is silver over blue, auto. some interesting things that came with it
New Vehicle Order Form
Used car Purchase Invoice (he traded in a 260z 2 seater)
New car Pre Delivery Inspection Sheet
The original Sales Invoice and the Garage Receipt (Bought from J.D. Duerden & Son. Southport Main Datsun Agent)
Guarantee and Receipt for full car rustproofing
The Instruction Manual for the Clarion Radio
Sales Brochure
Copies of all MOTs
And best bit ONLY 6890 miles on the car, that's right less than 7k miles verified by the MOTS on a 36 year old car
even has the old cross ply tyres
nice matching blue and silver interior
I am in Dublin Ireland

Welcome Tulip!!!

Wow that sounds like an amazingly original purchase! I have very little of that sort of history with mine. And that mileage!!! Always amazed that people buy cars like these and barely use them in their lifetime.

Looking forward to seeing your car pics!

PS: I would be very interested in seeing pics of the Clarion Radio Instruction book. I still have the original Clarion radio (Model Number RP-508L), but don't have the instruction booklet.

Thanks all. I will have to get someone to do the pics for me I will try this week. Seems like the ZClub sticker was somebody called Mr. Day who joined in 2000.

I totally predict the 280zx becoming very popular with 80's fans. I already see my teenage Nike trainers being worn by the yoots!

That's a lovely looking motor - nice buy!

Hey Trish, good to see you've bought a proper Z at last, well done. You will probably recall from JAE that I've got a black one. Super cars. hope you and the sisters are all ok and glad to see you're still in circulation.

I am still using Yokohamas S306 (205/70/14 95H) bought a good while ago, but they don't seem to be available anymore.

The owners manual for the wheels I have (6JJ-14) lists:
195/70VR-14
205/70VR-14
195/70HR-14
205/70HR-14

I can't find a tyre load rating in the handbook, so maybe someone else can advise?

Here is a link to a discussion some time ago which may or may not help.

PS: I bought some Pirelli tyres for my Volvo a week or so ago and got a great price from ASDA online... size availability may limit your choice though.
