Nice one, any pics yet ? I'm always after seeing how others do things and how things go together. I brought mine home yesterday so saw it in the sunshine for the first time. It is sunny in the North East of England sometimes.

Been in the middle of selling a house so Z's been on the back burner, doors and tailgate are hung but that's about it.

I feel I am making good progress and can see the light at the end of the tunnel. Todays pic. I still cannot get over how nice a Datsun is to work on compared to Fords etc of the same era. It is all so well thought out for example I refitted the doors today and they fit without huge amounts of adjusting. Happy days. Datsun 174.JPG

That does look good. You don't often see that colour interior with that exterior colour but I think it looks great. Just gimme a Dodge Dakota in Amber Pearl (like this roughly) and I'd be happy.

The colour I always liked on 60s Mustangs was Emberglow - again, very similar.

I got the bumpers from Classic panels and parts here in the UK and the brackets off Ebay, They all fitted nicely. Here is the rear one. Datsun 161.JPG

Did the holes line up for the bumper attachment on the rear quarter panels ? held mine up and the fixings on new bumpers don't match the american big bumper holes.
See you've got amber flasher lamps as well !

No is the simple answer. I had to drill a single hole either side in each quarter. Painfull but that was what was needed.
I commented on another thread about the rear lights. I bought some scrap UK units but with good orange lenses. Took a heat gun ( very carefully ) to the lenses which melted the glue just enough to remove them. Then cleaned them up, remelted the glue and popped the orange lenses in. I was pretty chuffed with the result. All new bulbs and job jobbed as they say.

I've got one of the long reach ones. 2.5tonne I think - got it when I was doing the Ford, which is a bit heavier than a Z. Good bits of kit, although I might get a smaller one for the simpler jobs.
