For everybody else, it's a 9-9.30am start, you arrive at Bruntingthorpe and park up just inside the main gate (it's obvious when you get there) and there's a cafe to fetch supplies from and get some brekkie...

What an absolutely stonking day out that was. Nearly 400 miles and 8 hours travelling time but well worth it. Big thanks to Bryn and J Tuner for inviting us. I cant remember the times that were recorded, I am sure they will be posted, but i do remember everyone going home with a big smile on thier face, although some were not smiley bunnies at breakfast were they!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!. Dee says she might like to go up to santa pod and have a play sometime so we will have to see if we can fit a meeting in somewhen I suppose.

Thanks to Steve K & Phil for letting me have a thrash of their cars up the runway - awesome :bow:

Yeah baby...second member of the Carlos Fandango WWF club (Wide Wheels and Flares) Simon got there first.

Seriously though, I must add that Jtuner really did give us an excellent day, so big ups to Bryn/Simon etc and I would like to reiterate the Clubs most sincere thanks to Ben and Dee for making a supreme effort in bringing the hill climb "road show" to the event, great car but even greater people that own, run and drive her, a well earned place in the records

I would like to add that should any proffessional motorsport team (Ferrari, Williams, etc) be reading this and need pit crews, Matt and I are available for hire and given our credentials (1minute and five seconds for a 1 litre refuel) we could make that differance to you  or at least the opposition.

Big plus of the day, I got to drive Phil "Sunsilk" Ellicots car...you know that 2.5 litre twin turbo'd 240Z "missile" that occasionally comes to events....yeah gods and little fishes that thing is fast, infact "fast" just doesnt describe it. My car does a 13.3 second 1/4 mile and Phils does it in 12.5.....0.8 of a second doesnt sound much does it, but dear god, its like night and day, I have never driven anything so quick/fast in all my life, effortless power.

(Is that enough Phil;) can I have my money now)

it was great fun :p :p
we must do it again sometime
thanks to everyone !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

even though i was the slowest car on the day it was still worth the effort of geting up at 5.45 and driving 130 miles there, spending £60 on petrol ,meeting everyone and getting my face in J-Tuner magazine all at the same time.:D

The pit crew were unique and much appreciated. I think with hindsight we could have just squeezed 4 runs from the tank but it would have been marginal. I was very aware on the day that there seems to be a lot of work to do just to run the car for 4 runs and both Dee and I are very grateful for both the help given and the patience shown as we prepared to play. It was nice to attend a club event where we could run the car for once.
It was also good to see Dee driving the car finally without certain ghosts hanging about to distract her. She beat me fair and square on the top speed( although had she been able to see the shift light she would have known that she was getting to the max rpm)
I reckon with warm tyres and some startline grip the 0 to 60 time would have dropped below 4 seconds.
I can see the attraction of drag racing but have to admit that I did miss the cornery stuff. Might have to come and have a play on the real strip sometime.

Looks to have been a fantastic day! I would have gone (It's not far from me) but I'm abroad on holiday.

Some quick cars eh! I was expecting Ben's to get off the mark quick and was thinking about you when in a bus yesterday. Ben (and Dee) the road from the sea up to the town of Taormina (Sicily) would make a fantastic hillclimb route, there are about 8 hairpins. Last year I went to Jersey and stumbled across Bouley (?) Bay hillclimb course. My wife tries to get me to forget about cars when on holiday but you can't can you!

The top speeds were impressive too, Phil your car is amazing! I've been in the 'Rutland Express' and that was quick with smooth power delivery, so if Steve is raving about your car it must be something very special.

Steve Francis's car is quick too, I've been in that around Castle Combe (shame it played up at the Japfest this time).

Well done J Tuner and all who attended, it should promote the Z well!

Anyway must get back to a beer!

Very impressive everyone - good pics and some great times!

I reckon a lot of people who own modern Jap "performance" cars will take a look at the way your Z's have performed and be amazed. Thirty years old but still looking good and kicking ass.

Nice going folks :)

absolutely incredible day, was well worth 3 days of effort, an MOT on moday and all the travel. was great to chat about the cars all day without feeling as if you were boring people too!

Thanks for the comments Steve, I enjoy getting opinions of other owners, just dead chuffed people liked it.

One of my favourite bits of the day was chatting to the bloke from datron, a mind of useful information, and seeing the plots of mine and Ben's car was really interesting, shows what a quick change and well setup dogbox can do, 0.1 sec changes compared to my painfully slow 0.3... i'd catch up, and get overtook on the change.. great stuff though. but seeing the car dart off the line was something not to miss..

Love Steve's overfenders too, I want some..

It was a cracking line up though, every car a bit different and something special about each..

Times weren't too bad, if only I didn't blow off a boost hose and could of got that last run in at full boost though... grrr..

what I'm not looking forward to is the pictures me!

Well done and thanks for a fantastic day JTuner!

Excellent videos. I can't stop playing the one of Ben's car and with the volume right up, it is such a 'full on' performance clip.

hi skiddy, no probs with the video. warm tyres would have stopped the wheelspin a bit but it still does it at gurston. I still reckon that the 0 to 60 would be under 4 seconds with a better surface and warm tyres. Over the winter I need to work on the gearchanges as well as I am loosing time there. There are still 2 meetings to go this season so if there are any pitcrew volenteers that would like to help out then they would be most welcome.
