I’m really cheesed off that I couldn’t make it today but it sounds like everyone had a good time. Sam got there with our Fairlady and said he was really impressed with the other Z’s and the friendliness and knowledge of fellow owners.

I’m sure there are a lot of rosy cheeks from being out and about in the glorious weather today. I’m looking forward to seeing some photos later.

Good turn out today, nice to see some new Zeds as well today. Apologies I could only stay until mid day. (Hope you got home ok Martin 😋 ). We had a great spot right in the paddock area - nice and convenient for a Coombe breakfast. Some nice cars and some very rare motors like this 1967 first gen rotary engine powered Mazda Cosmo each one hand built in Hiroshima, which eventually gave us the RX8.

Early morning and long trip (left at 4.20am, 160 mile drive each way) but a fun day. Apart from the fuel cost which was depressing tbh! Brutal pricing at motorway services, which makes me question how car event participation in general will evolve. I can see many, including me, questioning the finances of longer haul trips to events…

That Cosmo was a treat to see. Overall, the Mazda club had by far the biggest stand. Dozens of RX7s and 8s, including quite a few 1st gen RX7s. Plus a couple of RX3s.

Datsun Club U.K. had a few interesting oldies, including a KGC10 Hakosuka with the usual GT-R style makeover.

Good to chat with all on the stand and others. Cool that we had three JDM S30s there too - mine, Farmer42’s 2/2, and Faster Behr’s driven by his son Sam. It was a nice varied collection as the photos show.

Some nice cars there
yeah Rich I put sixty quids worth in for the trip to the Fourways bash on Saturday, looked at the fuel gauge on the way down and thought the sender unit wasn’t working properly but then some one pointed out ( my old mate Peter N ) the price of fuel didn’t realise the cost as I’m use to it with the Subaru’s but not the Z but then again maybe the Rebello is not as good on juice as the previous 3.1 was

Great to see everyone at the event on Saturday. Longest journey I have done the Zed for a long time, about 130 mile round trip. Journey out was fine, on the way back it wasn't running as smoothly as I would hope for. Putting the car back in the garage I could hear a bit of a whine from the fuel pump. Have just ordered up a new Walbro pump along with a filter. Once they start to go they don't last long!
