Look forward to seeing that beaut

You'll need to book a ticket to do that ;)

Great to see some commitment to this, there's still time if more people would like to attend. Would be great to get a good turnout

That would be fun Jon. Nice to see the difference between a low compression 280z engine and your's on the straight :)

My worry is stopping at the end of the straight! How fast did your 1jz go on the bigger straights?

Not really sure Jon. I Know it goes from standstill to 132mph in 1/4 mile. I would imagine I'll be in the 130's

I might have to try and rig some brake cooling ducts.

I've got a solution for your John, we swap my engine with yours. That way both cars can handle the power they're running ;)

I'm feeling nice, I won't even charge you for this favour....

That's very kind of you Woody, but I feel it would be too much work to ask of you. How about we just swap brakes?

Jon, don't worry about your brakes for this day. The only place you will brake hard is into the 'Esses' from about 110mph. Your car will slow down but the brakes will get hot so don't use them again until next lap after about 1.5 mins. A change down from 4th to 3rd is all that is needed at most corners if you power it through with slight oversteer. It really is a good circuit for fluent driving.

Thanks Rob, I expect it'll probably be OK. Last time I drove round Donington the brakes overheated and that was with the L24.
This time I have 5.1 fluid and better pads, but I will be going a fair bit quicker. Swings and roundabouts!

 It really wouldn't be too much trouble, anything to help out an esteemed club member... :p

I hear you can remove an engine faster with your experience, and those brakes would be too big for your wheels anyway!

Just seen that the deadline for booking club tickets has been extended to MIDDAY ON THURSDAY (13th June). So if anyone else fancies joining in, now is the time to follow the instructions in this thread on booking their tickets- if they want to be on the club stand and not in general parking anyway!
