.......... There are a few cars in the club that are 'quite' original, being membership sec I get to talk to some of the owners....

Just had a long conversation with a guy (rejoining the club) who has two 260Z 2 seaters. One owned from NEW, one bought when almost new (7k mls).

I saw this car a few weeks ago. It's very solid but the paint is a bit tired and the interior trim is tatty in places. The rubbing strips spoil the car, I think, but they're only glued on so should be removable.

Worth a look though quite far for most, being in Cornwall.

Is it sold? Rubbing strips, the trim along the wings and doors, are they not original?

The rubbing strips are often seen on US market cars but were not standard, i.e. typical period dealer add-ons. Not something you'd see on UK or other market cars. Fussy IMO, a bit like rear screen louvres - very American...

The God awful Rubbing strips on my car were drilled on....Factory fitted they all were. PITA.

Rear window louvers.........Are they worth anything? My son was trying to buy one for a Volvo 240 and it made over £500.

I have one for a Z......they will be all the rage again soon:)

Surprised by that

I know they're Americans but even so how can so many of them have such bad taste.

Not only that but the original paint under mine went into the holes indicating they were drilled at factory

Thats very cheap for that car, I know the full history of the car from when it was in the states, the sellers been messed around, also he's down in deepest Cornwall. I don't think there's better for sale at the minute.

Bit of a thread resurrection here!

Seller has got car up for sale again and I've spoken to him today. The car sounds promising but is in deepest Cornwall (i originally enquired as my Dad lives near Plymouth but he's still a 2 hr drive from him!).

Any information you have on the car would be much appreciated. Thanks
