Weird that it has 'Datsun' on the wings - that can't be original badging can it?

Looks like someone's going to be on the hunt for some expensive mirrors and headlight covers either way EXTRA:D

that could be poor listing HS30-H is what should be? The Datsun on the side is questionable but the mirror bases are there

Original wing-bottom emblems for L24-engined HS30-S, HS30 and HS30-H models were 'Fairlady' and '240Z' two piece combo. No 'Datsun' word anywhere on the cars.

Anyone who buys this car will need to be getting hold of some documentation for it, since it has lost its title and registration paperwork. Reading between the lines, it may have lost its original title (or the owner is secreting it) because it had a naughty-naughty 'upgrade' in model status some time in the past...

i'd say if you had a genuine zg. you'd know hs30-h and what it means, even if you were looking for a ZG.

I wonder what it says on the bulkhead?
if it was real they would have taken the first part of the vin in a picture. Lots of people have bid but it's quite low for an S30 in Japan

As already pointed out, the first part of the VIN (the prefix) doesn't tell you whether it is a genuine 240ZG or not. Hs30-S, HS30 and HS30-H models all shared the 'HS30' prefix and same body serial number sequence.

Is there any way to tell from the bodywork? The factory 'cut' arches for example?

Arches are not 'cut' on genuine 240ZG. Stock sheetmetal intact.

There are lots of ways to tell a genuine Fairlady 240ZG from Fairlady 240Z-S and Fairlady 240Z, but we 240ZG owners don't tend to broadcast them.

Because we are nasty, obviously.

Is that something possible Alan? I know how to do it in this country but how would you from Japan & would you need it to import to the UK..? Just curious, thanks.

What's a naughty upgrade, and can you see that from the pictures..?

Cheers,

JK
