@jonbills I'm almost ready to start installing the front GTR Calipers, carriers and new discs (found out all the brake lines are corroded and need replacement from the master cylinder back to each wheel! So working on this first).
Do I need to do anything with the Servo and/or Master Cylinder if I am to retain the drum brakes for the moment?
No, I haven't felt the need - I've got stock master cylinder and booster and drum brakes - I haven't really noticed longer pedal travel or any downsides at all.

Great, I was concerned about pedal travel and brake bias, but glad to hear that it's worked fine for you. Thank you, I will give that a go!

Thread update:
In the meantime I decided to purchase BC Coilvers and have decided to refurb suspension; but... I managed to trial fit GTR32 calipers along with the caliper adapters and Jag 300mm discs from @atomman They work a treat and the fitment is precise.
BTW: the combo fits perfectly under 15" wheels... Konig Rewind 15" x 7 et0.

Can I check in and ask what pads you ended up plumbing for?

Love the brake upgrade! I have the 4 pot Toyota callipers and pug 505 vented discs which do a super job but they don’t look anything as good as those.

Do you have some kind of roll cage on that monster? Not wishing to sound like an old fogie, you may wish to take heed from @IbanezDan51 ‘s experience where he had averynoowerful Z like yours and the roll cage saved his legs!

Powerful or not, any of our cars could be subject to something similar. Unfortunately unlike modern vehicles the side impact protection on our Z's was not given the utmost attention when they were designed and built, like most cars of the 60's and 70's!

But yes any protection people can do they should, particularly on modified vehicles where keeping the originality is less of a concern!

Not sounding like an old fogie at all AliK, I have been looking for a suitable half rollcage but have not been able to find one. The closest was this one:

Datsun 260Z S30 2 Seater 6 Point Bolt-in Roll Cage | Safety Devices – Experts In Automotive Safety Solutions

Does anyone have any experience with the one above?

Thanks!

@IbanezDan51 Agreed, I am not too precious about my installing safety devices like a roll cage as my Z as it's not an original car. These cars are old and have sheet metalwork like paper!
