i have 2 turbo manual z31's one pre facelift another facelift..both projects just now...the blue one was a n/a auto but is now a turbo manual....did have 3 but one was very rotten and used the turbo engine and box from it for the conversion..only had 53,000 miles on it

That's awesome Smudge!

Do you happen to have any spares? ... most folks on here are really struggling to find bits. Personally, I'm in need of door cards.

Nice to have 3 to play with Smudge - very envious!

Do you by any chance have a spare front number plate mount - facelift?

thanks

I like the IC set up and the ducktail spoiler... and I see that you're running the early rear bumper on the late car... I plan to do the same to get rid of those nasty sticky out things.

this is cool,i like the way the middle on the front bumper has been lowered on the blue one rather that cut a slot into it further down, what are you doing with the black one keeping it standardish?it looks like the mods are going into the blue one,on the parts aspect any rads knocking around there?

Thanks for your comments!! I might have the number plate mount you are after, have a facelift front bumper also but I was thinking of putting that on the black one. Defo have a radiator still in the other blue one and it looks good.....i think the door cards I have spare are red. The black one has been painted and needs doing again. Was going to put the arch extensions on it and may be the front bumper and that would be all. The blue one I want to customise it a bit as its a good idea to change the rear bumpers as I have looks much better and I've made a new slot for the number plate lower down. The blue one now needs bodywork, respray and interior cleaned up . runs really well. The black one just needs the engine sorted as its running ruff...good service with leads should do it...and its also got gaz coilovers on it....which I will probably swap onto the blue one

For the record - my first Z31 with full Kaminari Aero kit and '80s custom paint:

Lowering springs were eventually fitted, but handling was initially enhanced with MSA uprated anti-roll bars - a great mod on any Z31.
This car is still around near Basildon, Essex and does make the occasional foray out. Paintwork has been completely changed (metallic grey I think). The last time I saw it I was driving the ZR to the paintshop and my old Z31 pulled up alongside me on the old A13!

Slightly off topic, but one of my personal favourite photos with three generations of Mr.F cars together at the Halfway House - my V8 240Z, then in the hands of Rob Henshaw, FUF Z31 before Kaminari kit and paint and my Kaminari 280ZX.

The later IMSA 280ZXs are now thin on the ground in the UK. Both mine and the unfinished project version I had for a while went to France and I suspect that the yellow peril may have succumbed to terminal rust...

i like this car,i quite like two tone paint jobs on z31s,mine was blue/black when i got it and i might do it two tone again, like you say it needed lowering springs in this pic but very nice anyway:bow:,my kits completely on mine its all bonded on bar the front which has to stay removable,im in a slight dilemma as it whether to fill the small gap from bodykit to body because it is bonded eveywhere it touches the body after all, this method would look best, but i am im afraid it might crack over time at the join,or fill the small gap with flexible overpaintable sealer which doesnt look quite as good even using the thinners/rag approach to smooth it on....

I still have the moulds to make the front spoiler, skirts and rear valence for the Mk1, but the centre section of the rear spoiler is a more complex hand-crafted aluminium structure.
