Also got this panel/panels virtually rust free bulkhead, scuttle and firewall all as one will be unpicking the scuttle panel and reusing it as it is in superb condition compared to what I've taken off.
Then i will be reusing the new bulkhead needs very slight repair it will replace my badly rusted one and the heater air intake box is mint were the existing one just fell off, big job but will be worth it knowing its completely rust free
Will be using some of the firewall to replace mine where it has rusted through where it joins the bulkhead usual place they rust this for me was the best panel i could buy ,would like to say a big thank you to Pmac for calling me to say he had this
Doing this will be a task and a challenge but i am looking forward to doing it knowing it will all be done properly and will be back to how it should be
Not really cracking on yet John but won't be long give me a bell when you want to come round but it will cost you some rubber when we go out in your Z
Once again thanks to Pmac you have given me a big lottery win
Thanks Ped for your encouragement
Still going to be lots to do, still working out what stages to do what and how but it will all become clear once I start
This 260z will be the second best in the UK :lol::lol: NOT!!!!!
Lookin good..the availability of repair\ replacement panels makes the restoration task less challenging. Shame this kind of aftermarket support and affordability (relatively speaking) does not extend to the lesser popular siblings of the datsun family.
Well the 260 is back on the ground and of to be blasted with glass beads tomorrow night should have it back on wednesday ,when the fun begins looking forward to getting some solid panels back on the car .
Theres going to be plenty to do this winter will post up pics when it comes back won't be too much of a shock as i know what areas are good and bad
On the plus side those patches should be really easy to remove! I bet you're glad you've reached the end of all the scraping and now the fun stuff can start
