That was my initial reaction. Don't worry Derrick a critic would be hard to distinguish it from 'factory' :EXTRAlol:

Joking apart that should do the job nicely.

You're 'getting there' Derrick.
Don’t thin let this car is about being as factory but it will be rust free and strong, there really aren’t many car’s left that are going to factory as you like to say ,I guess I could introduce lots more rust to make it more factory :jester::EXTRAlol:;)

Done a little bit more of this jigsaw puzzle cut of this strengthening bracket not sure of its proper name but it joins the top of the firewall to the inner wing and the air tube had to take it off in pieces as couldn’t see any spot weld as it’s been previously welded DB6A4114-5EAF-4754-8D33-9DD90232D32B.jpeg975D07F7-F334-433C-9191-13EF7320F40F.jpeg

This is what I found under the bracket as you will see rust trapped in the seams and the top of the inner wing a few holes and a small amount of rust not that bad considering rust I’ve already removed from the shell 0316EE23-834B-4B73-A865-12B6CB8BFF43.jpeg57F873DC-520E-43AB-B0F9-B6736157EC14.jpegso time to get cutting again and make some more repairs.D030342A-DB1F-4B9B-ACDA-7B041508C20C.jpegA9807766-E7A6-4749-A778-61618D5D8F8D.jpegnow all the cutting done time to make and weld in repair section113ED378-B5C9-4FB7-815B-322EF5CFBF9D.jpegB138E76A-265D-45E2-B853-54E1E49BC58B.jpegbit more welding and grindingE2B359A0-D330-4123-9C41-99222E5A6D79.jpeg

Doesn't it need a bit more welding on the repair piece, underneath the piece with no-name that you just put back on?

Not sure where you mean Jon I’ve replaced what was there I think the bracket with no name ties the hole areas together

I meant this bit Derrick on the left there with the 8 or 9 tack welds - did that get more? just checking up on you, as an expert welder myself ;)
