Cut one of the patches out only to find Henry the hover watching me
Made a new section to replace old patch, ready to butt weld in can't believe how thin these inner wings are could be a few more hole soon
Now tacked in place
Ready to butt weld
Like the work, keep it up.
All welded up and ground of ready for some lead loading soon
It looks a lot better when the patches are removed and new metal let in properly..
Good to see you put the pressing back into..
Great work Derrick!
Awesome work, this looks like a great project! I wish I had the welding skills like that.
Its just a shame photobucket seem to have derailed it by spoiling a lot of the content.
Thanks Woody for you comments the welding has turned out pretty good but to be honest,I hate putting pictures up of my welding as they do look good in the flesh but when you take a picture of them they look ***** As for the previous pictures of this restoration that were hosted by photo bucket i will be trying to replace them over time
I have a lot of respect for anyone willing to take on the challenge, to me the photos look pretty decent. It'll all be hidden by paint eventually anyway.
Good luck, I'm sure it will be a super time consuming process! I've moved my photos on to Flickr which seems to be doing the job at the moment.
I look forward to seeing more developments
Any progress lately Derrick?
Suppose you will be needing sum wheels soon mate
He's been welding..
Small update, decided to try and take the front chassis rail off really solid due to all the welded patches but its got to go need to try and salvage suspension bracket
Defiantly needed replacing this is the inside
Dogleg being cut off too
Nearly all off so many layers of metal most of which is crap getting suspension bracket has been a task as its been welded over several times.
All the chassis rail off also cut the patch out at the bottom of the tower strut as that looked shocking
All that was cut out
Time to cut out the lower part of the inner wing
