Looks nice! I can't help thinking it looks a little squished in this view though!

And this looks very over engineered!

Nice hand built example though, quite pricey!

Oh lordy now I'm in trouble! Just come into some money and with the cobra going in the next couple of months I keep getting this nagging in my head to order a turn key from OM Sportscars. Although if Howard from the italian replica club could be persuaded to sell his I'd have his arm off. . .

Haven't spoken to OM yet (probably a good idea otherwise I'll be handing a cheque over!) - concerns are they've just taken the bodykit on and probably haven't even built one yet, let alone done a V8 conversion.

and it is a lot of money.

but I do love them.

and that black one is gorgeous.

Oh Lordy!

iam deciding also, weather to go for a roy kelly porsche gto.
.pros for roy..
1.a more reliable doner, with parts aplenty.
2.has a complete kit, only paint and wheels to get
3.has done more to look correct,i.e opening vents, longer hood etc
4.been around for ages, roy not the kit!

om sportscars.
pros..
1.has a 'correct' look about the doner car
2.can get everything upgraded.
since i haven't seen both companys kits in the flesh yet, i will hold on till the first kit car show.

These GTO replicas are real tarts - they never stay loyal for long - always wanting new, different owners to spend even more money on 'em !

On the basis that my LS2 V8 came from a Pontiac GTO and is going into my 240, can I please have special dispensation to stretch the truth just a weeny bit and claim to have a 240Z GTO Conversion ????????

Does it come with a wafer ?[/quote]

I must be having a dull moment Sean, I have completely missed the joke......

As a general GTO question (because I think they look fantastic)..... how accurate are the Z based kits ?? I feel a bit daft asking the question but I have never seen a real one in the flesh, only pictures.

Which is currently the best, most accurate, most complete kit on the market ?? The OM Sportscars ones look great but somehow don't look quite right to me.

Arh, warms my heart that there are still some geunine comedy lovers out there. Anyway, the response to Zheads' plea was a polite f... o.. !

'cos, it's effing seabird flavour isn't it - w...er ?

A polite F... O.. I can understand :D why didn't you say so ?????

If the wafer comment is anything to do with Monty Python or the like I would have absolutely zero knowledge of it ........ people that stand in the kitchen at parties reciting old comedy sketches bore me somewhat.

Any answers on the "which is best" question ??????????

The OM with 'trunk' option is closest although none can really be called replicas. The Z wheelbase is shorter and the bodykit is more rounded both front AND back. The nose on a real gto flattens out quite noticably between the lights and extends a little further, the front is also sleeker, the Z being a little more chubby. The real GTO rear window curves round onto the rear flanks, which themselves are straighter and the rear haunches lower.

Bottom line is where would a Z bodykit manufacturer find a GTO to splash a mold from?! Bearing that in mind it's a very pretty interpretation of a GTO - replica no, gorgeous look alike, oh yes!

there is no the best, most accurate, most complete kit on the market because you would need to know which car you was going to base your GTO replica on .
out of the 36 cars built they are all nearly different even if it might be slight.
the cars are bascily based on 2 body styles excluding 4173 GT ie the earlier cars had the spoiler bolted on the later it was moulded in and a fuel filler on the rear wing and some had 3 vents in the front wings when some had 2,some had vents behind the door, some had different cooling vents for the rear brake ,later cars had a different dash but most had blue buckets seats which does look odd as you might think they should be red or black and the inside of the car should be painted silver with not much interior apart from the padded gearbox tunnel etc etc.
it down to what you think a 250 GTO should look like ,as with most things everyone has their own opinion about these things
