So the musketeers are taking the Z roadshow to Goodwood Revival next week, anyone else going?
We are just a bit late to the party regarding accommodation - and have you seen the prices anyway :EXTRAeek:

Never fear though, 'have tents, will travel' and I have found a great looking campsite right next to a nice little country pub/restaurant about 20 miles away. Ideal for a spirited drive along back roads through the South Downs to and from the circuit each day. What we save on bricks and mortar accommodation we can spend on beer, well a round or two for the whole pub actually....

Car park pass sorted for the pre-78 car park which will be a mini-show in itself.

Just have to decide on which period and style of dress now.... 60's mod I'm thinking at the moment.

Hold on, you'll tent-camp in the UK in early Autumn but need a château in France during next July.....?

No you got it wrong there lad,we prefer a bit of class and sophistication, cold beer on tap where we don’t get ripped off on price ,two parties put on by the owners for us campers ,A classic car show, when it comes to where we stay which gives us the option of seeing you lovely lot at the track and as for the goodwood we stayed in hotel last time we were there

Always fancied this, great track and cars. However it was very expensive last time I looked and access to the paddock must surely be a lot more money too.

Also I don't like big crowds these days - events like those at Spa are so much more relaxing and 'easy'. Yes I'm an old man - I like sitting down in a pub too, where it's quiet so I can talk to my mates without shouting. It'll come to the rest of you!

Chris and mates, please take lots of photos for us and describe your experience of the day/weekend, I may be tempted next year.

I'm happy to camp anywhere, anytime, as long as there are decent facilities on hand, where a man can have a shower and do a no.2 in peace and comfort :D Hence a careful choice of campsite is paramount. Get back to nature, good for the soul and all that. You just think of the huge financial saving you've made against a hotel room to keep you motivated.

Tickets are expensive but sadly that just reflects the corporate world we live in nowadays and a price we have to pay if we want to enjoy our hobby to the max.
We have drawn the line at paying even more money on top of the entrance ticket for paddock access though. I believe you have to wear a shirt and tie in the paddock so can't imagine Jake getting in anyway ;)

It should be good and there's always lots of close racing. I think however that the qualifying day might suit me better.

People will have already booked their accomodation for next year at this point!

Great event that I usually attend and stay down at the Witterings, its become very expensive, overcrowded and corporate however its good in its own way. Certainly offers some of the best wheel to wheel classic racing I have seen anywhere period!

Have fun chaps, I'd join you however I'll be busy touring Europe in the Z for three weeks :coolgleam:

We are doing two days, Friday and Saturday and camping on the Thursday/Friday nights.

You can still get tickets for the Friday on the Goodwood website (which is the quieter day as no racing just qualifying).

It is then just a case of looking out for a Saturday ticket.
Jake and myself have tickets for both days, Tim just has Friday at the moment and is also looking for Saturday ticket.

Some people are still trying to profit touting on places like eBay but you get the occasional genuine face value or less offers. Gumtree is the other obvious place to look and maybe other car/enthusiast forums.

Don't forget to ask for a tax-exempt car park pass when/if you order the Friday ticket direct

Saturday would be my first choice but I guess I could join you all on Friday and bring a tent.

Yes could do - I've got a couple of spare tax-exempt car parking passes sorted for Saturday now so you just need an entrance ticket.

And I can't imagine me wanting to get in if it means wearing a shirt & tie. ;) If fact that's a definite 'NO!' EXTRA;)

Me neither, I'm just deciding on a shirt now, polka dot, paisley or horizontal stripey?
May run to a cravat but that's the nearest I'm going to a tie.

Heard some people saying they're going all 'Peaky Blinders'. I've never seen it as don't watch much TV but from the little I know wasn't that set in the 20's? Goodwood didn't start racing until 1948 so how does that work?

60's and 70's were the golden decades, the best cars, music, films, comedy, fashion, girls......... if I was in charge of the world we'd just re-run those two decades over and over on a loop.
