Gasket sealers

Hey gents, I'm finally getting around to rebuilding the engine in the next few days, I swear my old man used to use a gasket sealer on the water ways of the head gasket. My question is what's your guys thoughts opinions on gasket sealers be it rtv or the blue stuff on the head gasket and in general I guess.
The block was decked and the head skimmed too so there "shouldnt" be any sealing issues in theory.
F54 p90 combo.

I use a little Elring Dirko on the coolant bits and the timing cover, but it probably doesn't need it.
