Fuel sender help

That's what I did with mine - rightly or wrongly. If it is still loose, it might be worth checking if the rubber o ring is seated correctly and has not fallen into the tank which is what happened with mine. Easier said than done though. My locking ring was misshapen which is why I ordered a new one. yours looks ok though so you shouldn't need one.

It's not loose per se, I just wasn't expecting to have been able to move it much. Maybe it's fine! Pretty sure the o-ring is safely in place.

I used Plasti-dip liquid tape, its amazing! you dap it on thick with a brush and then it shrinks around it. Needs 2 coats. I'm going to use it on everything electrical from now on.

Just saw your msg above about the aftermarket senders leaking from the terminals though, so I might add some more to seal them up.

OK that's a good idea, I'll grab some of that grease. Is that the same stuff you use inside wheel bearings, etc?

I have that plasti dip stuff but in a spray can - it does the job but it goes everywhere, so looks a bit messy..might try your approach next time

An equivalent of this stuff is what I used. A friend who is a truck mechanic suggested it and had some handy. I didn't use loads, just a thin layer.
