Fuel pump spacer

Hi,

I'm fitting a new mechanical fuel pump to my 260z and the previous one did not have a spacer. Did the 1975 260z need a spacer?

Mine has one. Whether it needs on on every car depends on the type of pump & the length of the driver arm that meets the camshaft. All the manuals (Haynes etc. ) show the pump with a spacer.

My pump needs it other wise the arm will not hit the cam in the right place to drive the pump properly. When you fit the pump, do so with the rocker cover off so that you can see where it ends up against the cam.

Perfect thank you. It is strange it didnt have one. As you said it shows in the manual to fit one. When I looked up the part they show up to 74. Good idea with the rocker cover. I'll give that a try.
