It’s a copy of the microfiche, good enough quality to scan.

"The microfiche".

But which microfiche? There are at least 12 factory parts manual versions for the S30-series Z to my knowledge. Most of the versions sourced via the USA are - not surprisingly - specific to the north American market models. UK/Euro market cars have very many parts and details that are not included in the north American market data.

The illustrations are for RHD cars, steering column, dash etc.
Lights are split into Europe and non-Europe sections.
Wiper linkage is for RHD.
It’s a December 1973 issue and covers 240 and 260 incl 2+2.

I think this makes it clear it’s not US. Straight to the point!

You're kind of making my point for me. There's no *the* microfiche. Franky's car - for example - is a North American market model. I have North American market, Japanese market and UK market models. There are several different factory parts lists which cover them. It's not all on ONE list.

The point being that anyone downloading or otherwise obtaining a copy of *a* factory parts list would be well advised to make sure it applies to *their* car. Especially if they are paying for it.

Yep. If the club could source all (hopefully, or most) of the microfiches available and put them into a digital format for the Members then it would be great for all of us.

It would be up to us to make sure we reference the correct one for our particular car.

Nissan still hold - and enforce - copyright for the factory literature, so permission would need to be sought for even a limited, club membership based distribution/sale.
Wow, I wasn't aware they still protect literature that old!

There are plenty of places you can download the FAST software if you search (but perhaps not legally going by Albrecht's quote above). The issue with FAST is finding the right set of CD's (or at least files to download, you don't need a physical CD) for your car. The US ones are plentiful but the UK ones less so.

I'm not saying they will chase down individuals who 'share' person-to-person on a pro bono basis, but that it is wise for a marque owners club or otherwise organised group (like the members of a web-based forum) to seek permission before copying and distributing.

I'm a member of a Japan-based owners club and Nissan have given specific data/publications to that club with their blessing, but stipulated control of distribution as being limited to members of that group.

Excellent point, to clarify my previous post the club would not endorse distribution of the materials without permission and scanning documents would be primarily for preservation / archival purposes.
