Footrest

I've never seen a chrome one. I don't know if they ever officially came in chrome, but all the original equipment ones I've ever looked at for sale or on cars have been black.

It's likely my car, as a Fairlady Z-L, had one fitted originally, but new floors before my ownership removed any evidence of that being the case.

That price on eBay is about what you can expect to pay.

Fair enough! I still think the originals were likely all black though.

*awaits Albrecht for confirmation either way*

The footrests were standard for the S30 Fairlady Z-L model up, as was the rally clock, etc. Footrests were not fitted to the base model S30-S Fairlady Z, but were available as an extra cost option.

It bums me out that so many of the nice detail pieces that would've been on my car when new were lost over its history before I got it. Footrest, rally clock, the parking/passing lights setup. It's still a bit of a mish-mash in some respects. I've actually got the correct front indicator/parking light clusters but only one correct partitioned lens and no associated switches for the early-style console. :(

Anyway, off topic - hope the first paragraph answers your question Nathan.

There's one on e-bay at the moment.

http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Datsun-Ro...st-40-J4550-/111708448967?hash=item1a0257a8c7

Bit pricey though especially when you have to add shipping & taxes.

$10 cheaper if you buy direct from his website:

http://jdm-car-parts.com/collection...ot-rest-for-jdm-fairlady-z-and-roadster-sp-sr

The repros are about the same price from Japan too.

There's a scruffy original on Yahoo Auctions Japan for less though:

Interesting - a period aftermarket footrest in the US. I guess it look like this Sean?

Chrome footrest origin solved it would appear. Not original JDM option equipment, but US aftermarket accessory.

I see from the ad various other add-ons that could be had. I've seen an import car fitted with the luggage riser bar a few months ago.

Yep - looks like mine except not bend - I rather prefer it to black to be honest.

Yep, bumper grills to 'protect' the lights and front bonnet edge - probably do more damage if pushed inwards but I bet AMCO sold a shedfull of add-ons !
