Is this a job that can be safely carried out with the engine/drivetrain/fuel tank etc in situ?

I appreciate that the floor pans don't offer a lot structural support and that the sills and transmission tunnel are sound, but most (all actually) threads that I've read have had this work carried out on bare shells.
