Float Level and Compression Check - Safest way to disable the Z

Hi Gents,

I’m just about to do a float level test and wondering about the safest way to disable the car.

I was planning on disconnecting the coil from the distributor end, connecting a cable using a crocodile clip and taping, then earthing to bare metal somewhere.

Is there a better way, I'm a little worried that with fumes all over the place I’m gonna blow myself up or worse still.. damage the Z!

I'm kind of thinking that with the fuel feeds not connected it wont start anyway and not needed, but would be happier knowing what the best practise aswell for compression checks etc

take the wires of the coil then it cant produce a random spark. Not the coil to dissy lead but the wire that powers the coil.
