Fixings

The car is now in the bodyshop and I want to replace the old fixings for the wings / doors / valance etc. because the old ones are damaged or stripped etc.

Is there any way of getting the exact replacements or will I have to make do with generic parts?

Most Nissan OEM bolts and fixings have been superseded by new designs or dropped altogether. I would suggest sourcing the closest modern equivalents.
If you have specific requirements I can check what Nissan have left to suit...

Ah ok, at the moment I'm after complete kits for the wings, headlight cowls, doors / hatch / bonnet hinges and front valence.

I know you can get complete kits from the states, but not sure over here...

I re-tapped a lot of my under-body bolts to suit new ones, as old pitches don't seem to be the same as the modern stainless fixings.

That's interesting, I've never had a problem like that - which ones did you have trouble with?
so far, I've always been able to get fasteners that match the thread pitch of the originals.

This has reminded me of a very basic newbie question I was going to ask before (but was probably too embarrassed to do at the time!)

Are all the bolts metric sizes or imperial?

If I recall all are metric standard pitch up to M8 size, after that they are metric fine pitch.
They are quite difficult to find but can be bought through some specialist fastener sites etc.
