Right to air your view - ok, but try to contribute something more than "F1s boring !" - please.

We all know it's boring, I'm trying to organise something here that perhaps gives more of an edge to it !

Why not, before the race, or before the next one give your prevision and join in ? If you watch it.... In fact that's more than I do sometimes !

Hi Sean,
A quick side bet ( beers! ) on the GP if you fancy . I reckon that the first time they go over the finish line the first 3 will be : -

1 - Alonso
2 - Trulli
3 - The German in a Fiat !

What´s your choice ?

Regards

Symon

p.s. Are you still going to Narbonne ? If so send me a pm or e mail with your contact ´phone number, I´ll get in touch & come up and take my winnings !!!!

Trulli, Alonso, the Fiat !
But I'll go further and bet that at the end of 7 laps the race order will be:

M. Schumacher
F. Alonso
J. Trulli
Rubens
D. Coulthard

The latest news is that Monday I'm driving up to near Amiens for at least 3 weeks but all that could change after the 1st week ! I'll keep you informed !
Speak later after I've watched my recording of the Grand Prix (so that I may FF through all the adverts etc) !

Oh s**t,
I didn´t plan on the safety car coming out !
I´ll hope for better luck in the next GP.

Don't tell me that race was boring ! Bit of a pisser that there were so many punctures, bit like Le Mans a couple of years ago when they redid the stretch just after the Dunlop bridge and heaped loads of SHARP gravel into the new gravel traps that got inevitably spread all over the track !

Well done McLaren and Sauber, damned shame for Button and Coulthard was a silly billy !
Oh yeah, congrats to Schumie - we'll see if he's as hungry for points for the rest of the season. Montoya was more than on form but it was his fault and not Trullis ! Zonta deserved better !

Symon, didn't I just win a beer here ? You're a bit discreet about announcing that !

Hi Sean,
I´m not quite sure who won ! So I thought that I´d not start bragging until I knew the results.
At least the race was interesting & it was good to see a few new faces towards the sharp end of the results. It was a shame for Pizzonia & Zonta, they both drove really well & should have seen a result for their efforts.
How come your going to Amiens ? I was planning to come up & have dinner with you in Narbonne, but from Amiens I´d have quite a ride back home !
I´m off to Barcelona to see if the cristal ball shop will p/ex my old unreliable cheapy for a new, all singing & dancing, more accurate one. & I´m off to go & get my R32.
Regards

Amiens for two weeks, then one week at home, then 'til end of October near Avignon ! I'm getting closer friend !

My prevision for Monza :

Schumie
Rubens
Trulli
Montoya
Alonso
Button
Kimi
Pizzonia

I'm still leading Olaf by 174 to 156 points ! I told him he might email you for Mini advice !

6 - Barichello
7 - Button
8 - Montoya

Will F1 kill itself?

I've seen all the arguments etc etc, but with any sport, if you get a runaway success in one person it damages the sport.

People won't tune in to watch a parade, therefore sponsors don't get the coverage and pull out (remember the Orange Arrows Team dying because Orange pulled out) and ultimately, the sport will die.

Agreed, Schumacher was instrumental in pulling Ferrari up to its current level, I'm not sure that I agree that he did that at Benetton. But you have to wonder why the likes of Paul Stoddard continue in the sport when they are lucky if they gain more than a few 'gifted' points in a season.

It is obvious that Schumacher is a very talented driver, but that level of seperation from the rest of the field cannot ba a good thing.

I would like to see what Schumacher could do in a Minardi, if he went there, the sponsorship would follow him and Minardi would probably be able to afford the technology to move up the grid. (money goes to money).

I'm not purporting to know what the answer is, all I can say is that it is recognised there is a potential crisis in F1 and I'm note sure that anyone is prepared to tackle it in a radical way. Maybe like BTCC a reverse grid or success ballast, but I'm sure that like any system, it would be 'worked' and become irrelevent.

Think I'll go back to watching BTCC, NASCAR and the lower formula's until F1 gets its act together and produces races rather than carnival parades.
