to save lots of posts in the "basic electrical post" any comments weather its valued, poorly put or just not needed please post it here! yes i know the grammmmmmers poor but i do have a life too!...lol

i would also like to invite those ppl that have a serious back ground in the carb back ground to come forth and do a little posting on tweaking and maintaining hitachi's,su's,stromberg's, webbers and dellorto's under the heading of carb maintenence(just an example) i have no objection to doing fuel injection unless someone is keen to do it. we could also do the same on gearboxes, diffs, engines and the list goes on! any takers?

WHAT DO THE PPL IN THE CLUB THINK?

I'll try to put up 2 comprehensive posts per week on the welding scene Grolls ! First one due Monday next week. If anyone has any specific questions, feel free ! SMAW,OXY-ACET, TIG,WFIG,or whatever, i can probably be of some help ! :)
TIG or "tungsten inert gas" welding is about the best thing ever for welding body panels, it's possible to weld a pepsi can thats been cut in two ! Just think,,,no more warped & bent body panels from the excess heat of the mig gun!!!!

Here's one. How do you weld?!!

Something I've been meaning to learn, probably not for welding body panels, perhaps useful for making front diff mounts though ;) So far my research is hinting that MIG is the easiest and probably cheapest to learn, does that sound reasonable? Of course if I were to fall back on my BAe training I'd be riveting everything left, right and centre! Now that's proper fabrication ;)

I'd be more than happy to share my knowledge, downside is that I don't have any specialist knowledge! It usually takes me 3 or 4 attempts to figure out how to get out of bed in the morning :D

Cheers,
Rob

Grolls ! I don't know costs for TIG, but it's an add on for a D.C. welder, with argon and remote foot control, so probably not out of this world cost wise.

pmac is taking a break from breaking at the moment to concentrate on building a 2nd 240Z for Santa Pod, so no interest in grinders at the moment.
Probably Wallys welding posts will be of interest.
Its good to see some use for Canadians!!!!!! Wonder if hes up for building an L28 engine over the winter?????
