Easy/cheap fix for Incorrect fuel gauge operation 240z

In case this helps anyone in the future.....after refurbishing my fuel tank, refitting and refilling..I found that my fuel gauge was reading all the way to the right ie, past 'full'...on removing the sender connections the 'open circuit' meant the gauge read empty....so clearly there was continuity...but the resistance of the circuit was faulty...possible a faulty sender ?....

before splashing out on a sender...I checked the connections to the sender unit...as they looked a 'tad ropey...decided to remove the existing female spades. trim the wire back to expose new(er) conductors and fit new f-spades...(what sort of connector is supposed to fit on those 'top hat' type connectors ?....) ...

anyway..on fitting the new connectors the fuel gauge works perfectly....kinda' obvious I know...but happy with a virtually free fix :smoke:

cheers

Also check the connection which is located behind the trunk trim panel. Mine was corroded and therefore the wire resistance was off.
