Hi just a quick question, will my 2010 370 run ok on E10 petrol or should I use the premium option ?
Did you notice any difference in starting when using E10 ? Thanks

What does it say on the filler cap or in the manual?

Its not like the 3.7 is a stressed high performance motor so I would suggest it will run fine if you can't get to a station with good quality fuel. Though purely from a petrol head point of view, I trust the refinement of the superior fuels is much better and will lead to longevity of fuel components for any vehicle so always run my ICE petrol cars on premium fuels where possible.

The 370Z should only be run on 98+ RON. Last time I checked BP Ultimate was only 97 so marginal.

I run mine on Shell V Power by preference but it most often gets Tesco 99 or Esso.

When driving in distant parts of Europe I tend to carry some octane booster because there have been times where I've been very low on fuel with only 95 RON available.

I ran mine for 80k miles on super unleaded because as Paul said it states that. Cost a small fortune and I bet it would have been OK on regular. Couldn't bring myself to do it though.

I understand, it’s only a second car and won’t be doing lots of miles so I think I will go with you gents and keep it on premium fuel as much as possible. Thankyou all for your advise.
I will have a lot more questions in the coming months.
I’m looking forward to attending next time you have a meet where I can really pick your brains 😁

One question - do you know if it's been mapped? There are a couple of options and mine (which is UpRev) has different maps you can change on the fly.

It's possible to have one of the maps de-tuned to 95 RON for when you can't get better.

PM me if you want to find out if yours has UpRev.

I had my 350Z remapped by uprev at a trackday I was watching at Silverstone. It was done to release more power in the lower gears where it was restricted for smoothness and safety.

Paul have you ever tried a drag start in your 370Z with the traction control switched off. My car was a semi-auto and it just couldn't do it, the wheels jumped up and down like 'tramping' in a live axle car.

Yes, the factory map on the 350Z didn't give full throttle in 1st and 2nd. From what I understand that's not the case for the 370Z.

UpRev doesn't give much more BHP but does wonders for torque and makes the car a lot more fun. The maps on mine give different throttle response. It's possible to have a 'valet mode' to limit revs but I didn't bother with that.

I've never tried a drag start as such but I have done some fast starts in the past. I had a little tramping at the time but wasn't sure if that was down to the road surface and / or tyres. I was running the original Bridgestones at the time and they are like plastic when they're cold rather than rubber!

My old C63 did exactly that with 'race start' Rob. On the majority of road surfaces, you could get off to a much quicker standing start manually than using the pre-programmed launch.
