The pictures range from the car in my father's garage where it his from the public eye for 20 years to where it sits in a slightly smaller humble abode

Will get some better pics when I take it out for a run. I must admit that I love the interior (black & grey) & when your in there driving it can only be described as one of the nicest places in the world to be.

Good news. any pictures ? I was supposed to be at the Hartlepool show this weekend but can't make it. There is a car meet at Ryton on Tuesday that always has a good turn out if that's of any interest. Next trip out should be Brunton Airfield on July 3rd.
I will try to make the Brunton airfield one, that would be a good run out.

Have you been along to a meet in Bedlington by any chance? I was idling the car on the drive last week and a neighbour stopped and told me she’d seen another Zed there a few times. She showed me pictures and it looked like yours?

Yes, that was me at Bedlington and I told the lady from your street to give you a kick to get the car finished - which she readily agreed to !!

Hi all,

I'm fairly new to the club but here's my 260Z that's now sitting nicely in my garage near Darlington until next Spring! Hoping to get to some club meets next year!

That looks very smart and to my limited knowledge a very unusual colour. Don't know of any clubs meets in the North East but I try to get to Croft for the shows held there.

Thanks - the car was fully restored in 1998/99 and painted BMW green. It is unusual but I think it looks great. She's away after Christmas getting some bodywork and paint repairs, then it's off to get the carbs tuned and then repairs to the seat upholstery!! Hopefully all of this will be done for Spring and a few shows.

Hi Dave, unfortunately not. Mine is a 1978 two seater 260z, originally registered in Durham. I bought the car in 1987 and crunch time came 1992 when the fuel tank start leaking, I parked the car in the garage and it hasn't moved since :( . It has survived quite well but is still very sad looking. Everything that is rubber or greased needs be replaced, last year I dismantled the brakes and fronts suspension, the fuel tank is fixed but along way to go.

It will be back on the road one day

Patrick

Cool photo Patrick, Tynemouth Shore car park, not far from me.

My 260z used to be black in a previous life. Here’s an old photo of it sporting a pair of the weirdest rear lights I’ve seen on one of these!

Hi @Dale ,
You are right that is Tynemouth back in 1990, you can tell by the fact the car park is nearly empty, I struggle to find a space when I go there now DPT60S005.jpg . Took the car there with my trusty Olympus trip camera to take some photos for the Summer 1990 Z club magazine. Z_Club_Summer1990_cropped.jpg I have to agree about those rear lights, we did some strange things to cars in those days, but I love the z in black, my first one was black, 1985_3_015.jpg I sold that in 1985 and saw it a few months later abandoned in Scotswood with no wheels and it looked like the kids had been using it as a slide, it broke my heart seeing it like that :nopity:. It meant that I had to paint my next Z black as well. Never stopped loving the cars ever since.

Cheers

Patrick

Talking of how our cars used to look....here's how mine was in 1979 until 1998, then when she was repainted and back on the road (1999) and now with the historic plate
