Concourse for £30k....? I would put that into the tragic undervaluation bracket.

Regrettably a hard to sell at price whilst people still think of Datsuns as plentiful and cheap (read reliable still with minimum servicing) little runners.

The price to build to concours (a concourse is like a large vestibule or that which you get at railway stations before the ticket barriers and platforms ;) ) Z is far in excess.

Nice to see the English language can still be understood without having to explain it using emoticons (or whatever they're called). No idea what a grey face with sunglasses means.

Like you, I detest emoticons. I don't need a little picture to understand what a sentence means - as long as that sentence is written in good, grammatically correct English.
As for your car - as long as you are happy with it and love driving it, the value is irrelevant. The fact remains that as long as you look after it, and don't let it deteriorate, it will always be worth more than you paid for it as the years go by.

What people think they are worth seems to me to falls into 6 categories
a: The people who own the cars and want to drive them
b: The people who own the car for an investment
c: The people who want to buy a car to drive
d: the people who want to buy a car for an investment
e: The people who own a car and want to sell it
f : The people who have a few cars and want to sell them

I'm not interested in the value of RHD S30s through some vested interest. I don't think I'll ever sell my 240Z but it's nice to have people outside the ownership circle recognise the value of such a thing.

I don't think i could put a value on my blue car therefore it is invaluable to me. It is not just an object that has a price tag but a possession that I get great enjoyment from. If I sold it then no amount of money could give me the enjoyment I get from using the car. Therefore I can never see me parting with it at any price.

Its value to me is higher than what its probably worth.

Sincere words......and never say never but in all reality, no-one will offer you a tempting amount.

So, soley for the 240Z :

240Z

Epave (sans CG) - €3000
Epave - €5500
Project longue - €9500
Project court - €13000
BEG* - €20000
TBE* - €26000
quasiment parfaite* - €30000
Version de compétition (sans papiers FIA) - €37000+ selon spécification
Version de compétition (avec papiers FIA) - €50000+ selon spécification

As a non-club confused potential buyer, are these the values your club would suggest for Euro LHD models or US LHD models? Would there be a significant difference in valuation?

As you mentioned, I'm sure there are a lot of variables to mods, but is there generally a % difference between completely stock and modified cars? Eg. engine or transmission swap?

I also notice the car that started the thread is still for sale at £19,600. Seems like people were put off by the mods after all.

Join the club become un-confused :) !

a) For simplicity, assume that USA imports have been converted to Euro spec.

b) "Obviously some of you will say 'what about the differences in year builds, what about auto boxes, what about mods....well, it's just a guide - there can be many too many variables and specifics to list !"

Completely 'stock' cars are so rare that they are in a different 'class' imho.....and even 'stock' is debateable !

c) Maybe.....maybe just not a good time to sell or it's competing with other cars for a limited market !

I'm hoping to shortly :)

For 'Converted to Euro' - Would include swapping to 5-Speed, Removing Emissions stuff, fitting rear anti-roll bar or just all the electrics and lighting etc?

Valuation of classic cars is not an exact science and even less so with Z market as so many variables.
