Legally ? How so ?

Noted.

Import a shell/car and covert it to rhd with what's left from this (incl rebuilt engine). Keeps it's lhd identity but is a 're-shelled' Samuri. Been done with other sporting cars.

However it's now probably gone too high to be viable.

Or bring a shell over and use it for the repairs. Not the best but not illegal is it?

No rob, all you've done there is convert a LHD shell to RHD, the correct way.

Its not Nick Masons Auto Union racer, it has zero value in its identity once the carbs are bolted to a lhd shell.

No Rob? No to what, it can be rebuilt into a lhd shell, sprayed the same colours, and openly declared a reshelled car (Samuri?) as opposed to a repaired rusty one. Value - who knows until it's sold.

All I ever said was:

This will be interesting to follow - and a candidate for a LHD shell surely.

'No rob' as in it will not be a samuri as that id belongs to that shell. theres no legal way to carry the id over with the s30 range as the chassis id is the shell.

Swapping shells with another and using the original id n the donor shell is RINGING and is 100% illegal. No question

I'm amazed at how many people do not realise this and see cars af all sorts openly declare this has been done not realising the car could be crushed

The only point at which you can swap shells is if you bought a new original unused shell

Am I missing something or has the add been changed. It doesn't mention it's a samuri, only that it's samuri spec meaning it's fitted with triple carbs.

It's a parts car IMO but still has value for anyone wanting to do a RHD conversion(obviously retaining the LHD identity). So, what is a donor car worth nowadays?

Maybe I'm out with my valuations of stuff but I'd figure for a parts car:

Right hand drive conversion parts - 1500-2000 with lights etc
Those old carbs are probably worth 500-600
Running gear - 500
Engine - 200
gearbox - 200

Remaining interior panels/parts - 500

Which only suggests to me someone isn't going to use it for parts...

Hi - it was only ever advertised and still is as a "1974 Datsun 240Z in samuri Spec" or "Sameria spec" in the text. Idid send the seller for which he was grateful the link to the Samuri register.

This is at the bottom of the advert:

The samuri cars are not easy to verify, therefore I cannot guarantee that its genuine, but the facts stack up very well !

Those figures seem high to me considering it's been standing so long.

What do you mean by running gear - Freddy Flintstone trainers?
