Glad you're ok, sucks that the Z is dead after so much work! A risk we all take with these kind of projects I guess. Get well soon!

That sucks, but like others have said, glad you are ok. You must be gutted after only getting the Z going.

Makes me think I should probably go for a full cage instead of a half cage I mine.

Probably not top priority right now, but was there much salvageable from the wreck? You'd put a lot of effort and great componentry into that car - hopefully you'll be able to rescue some of it.

Hey all thanks for the kind words.

Currently I'm not actually bothered about the Z, but yes I'm sure plenty is salvageable.

I went in the hospital Sunday evening by helicopter, instantly had a CT scan and then waited to have an incorrect operation on my right leg Monday (nothing too bad just put staples in rather than stitches as I needed an MRI scan). This was rectified Tuesday (i think) and I had the MRI scan... Had to wait flat on a spinal bed for over another 24 hours to be told my neck and spine looks ok, there maybe a small possible fracture and twist in the top of my neck so leave the collar on for 2-3 months. Huge bonus as I could then sit up..!
Started some physio Wednesday/Thursday and Friday morning and they discharged me at about 7 yesterday.
All in all so happy to be here, do not remember a single thing about the accident other than knowing my leg was broken and they hurt my thumb trying to get me out. It's very odd to think I could have quite easily passed away and the only pain would have been left for my family and friends to deal with. Not nice.

Be careful Z friends and I'll keep in touch, should get the car back Monday and will get some pictures.

Great to hear you got out of the hospital ok with your limbs all intact. Sounds like you will heal well and have no lasting damage.

It's a reminder to us all how the smallest thing not quite right or naturally fatigued on the car could end in disaster :(

As for Z's, I'd guess that will be the last thing you'll be wanting to think about for a while!

Buddy you are so fortunate!!

My step father had a similar incident 47 years ago in a TR4 when his rear spoke wheel collapsed and it planted him sideways into a lamp post! OK so without seat belts and a roof he was thrown out but his hip is so badly smashed that to this day he limps and is in pain. :(

Someone was looking out for you, be happy!!!!!

Glad you are OK (relatively speaking of course) and will be back to your old self soon.

BTW, I read your entire thread - what a super effort and a great result that car was! I do hope you repeat it.

If I was Dan this thread would certainly 'lift' me. Knowing Dan I'm sure it will do the same for him.

It absolutely lifts me.

I am having huge ups and downs, (unfortunately the ups are only after pain killers) but I am going to push myself as I want my life back sharpish.

Kind of hoping today that the accident investigator goes to view my car so I can get a better understanding of what happened that day.

Needless to say, I'll be getting another 240Z. Might just try to get a nice original one this time though we will see.

Thanks for every
