Custom Ignition leads? Datsun spirit style

And you would loose it all..... in the very early days he may have used kameari parts in his builds (he’s actually very good friends with them and has great respect for their products).

I promise you that his products are his own design and not anyone else’s re branded etc. Most of these companies don’t have production facilities in house, but it doesn’t mean they are not their own products made for them.

I’m not trying to be inflammatory, I just don’t like misinformation being spread. Honestly he’s a good guy and knows his stuff.

Tom

Hi Tom, I'm not saying he's not a good guy.

Currently I'm just using the set of Vauxhall Omega leads that came with the coil pack. But most of them are way too long. I've got another set I made with terminals from Mr retro leads and I'm going to fix them up for length. If they work they work, if not they'll be a template for a custom set.

LOL that what I have at the moment, I got 2 sets of omega ones to keep the lengths more correct but would something a bit neater looking and the lead sets I got were quite old stock and when I stripped one down they were showing their age.

I think Magnecor do custom leads and are UK based

After my last conversation with magnecore I would never touch them again.

Rang them to say my leads have failed and I need to know how to send them back under warranty - got a defensive tirade of why it's all my fault and their product is perfection personified and impossible that it's failed!

Let's see how they deal with it from here /come through but I feel a factual write up coming on!

What upsets me more than that is that the leads made a great difference - before they broke down and caused all kinds of back firing issues.

Took some ohm readings the other day and my mate who has a mx5 with Jackson racing spark plug leads were about 800 ohms and my leads were about 7000 ohms which very surprising so measured a lead off a 1ltr polo in the workshop and it was 11000 ohms.
The smaller the number, the better as it is less resistance for the voltage.

Higher impedance is better for radio interference suppression

My home made ones work great. I don't know what the resistance is but the sparks are good. I've been able to up the plug gaps from 0.6mm to 1.1mm.

I was at the classic restoration show last weekend and accuspark sell a kit of parts to allow you to custom make your own..they also include a simple crimping tool.

I bought mine some time ago from Eiji but if not I would have done my own.

Mr G. I'm definitely going to order a set when I sort my exhaust out. That is one of the best links shared IMHO!!!!

I particularly like those separators!!!
