Crane cams HI-6 ignition box

Hi all,

Ive been offered a HI-6 ignition box and ps91 coil fairly cheap, cheap as in very cheap as the owner doesn't know if it works. It has a rev limiter built in and supposed to give a better spark, thats all I know about it.

Anyone know if these are any good? or worth my while taking a chance on it?

I have an l28 non points distributor at the moment.

hi I ran a crane ignition system on the race car for years and it was bomb proof. I would use them again if I was not running ECUs
Ken Dollen now has my crane system

I am sure that there will be other views that contradict but it was a good reliable system for me

Ran without fault. Got a wiring diargam somewhere that Mr Jarman created when he wired it up.

I'm using a MSD 6A box on mine and it works great with my 280 dizzy, Not a crane but I'd of thought it's pretty much the same thing, Mine is supposed to give a multi spark at lower revs, I don't really understand it but my car does start and run great lol.

I had to fit a different rev counter though but if you have the 280 dizzy you've probably done that anyway yourself.
