Hi all just fitting an aftermarket retro style radio it needs a constant live for the presets and i need one for the electric aerial feed. Would it be best to take it straight from the battery with a fuse or connect to the horn in the fuse box as this is constantly live too ?. Any other plugs or connections that may be constant live ?

thanks

I don't know of any car that would have a constant live for the radio. That is asking for it to be left on and discharge the battery.

The horn is a possibility yes.

Rob, I’ve hardly worked on a car that doesn’t have a live, but I’m a youth (only 50). It maintains memory on modern radios but isn’t the same as the power feed, most will have a perm live and a switch live.

I took a fuse feed spur off the ignition live to the key switch on mine.

Oh ok.

I could do with a battery in my pocket and wired to my memory.

However I can remember my Dad having a Mk11 Zodiac with a valve radio!
