Mine are definitely Maxspeedingrods, with an S. And they have no machining flaws.
Maybe the middle S stood for standards. [emoji848]

My rods were from www.maxpeedingrods.com and the packageing says the same. Are there 2 different companies with a similar name. Maybe I’ve bought the wrong ones :(. Here’s a picture showing the floor in the web machining.

When I bought mine, both brands existed and I thought one was copying the other and I just picked one. Now the www.maxspeeding.com website redirects to www.maxpeeding.com which suggests both are owned by the same company and they've decided to consolidate.
So I think there's no good reason for them to not supply good kit, but maybe their own quality control has slipped and as Jason says, if it's not right send it back.

Is there shot peening in those marks? Looks like handling issues from the pics, not a cutter as it would have been cut there on the other axis.

They would have replaced it, might be worth asking still?

It is definitely a cutting issue. You can see the first groove and then a couple of smaller ones to the right of it. I will contact them and see what happens.

To add, Rods have arrived, 570g(thats my 'long rod' versions with smaller bushings). All perfect, just had them on a surface plate and with calibrated calipers, and a mill dro.

I sketched the rod on the scales so they were in the same place, all 570 or 571g. Not shabby at all.

Wow. That's quite a lot lighter than my noted (not weighed by me) weight of 625g for the 140mm version with ARP bolts and 21mm pin bore. I believe that 625g weight was quoted by MaxpeedingRods themselves.

I wonder if they are different (bolts?), or if there is something else that explains the 50g+ lighter weight? Lighter for the same strength is certainly better isn't it?!

I'm not sure Alan. I wonder if that's their Max weight? some of the descriptions are a little generic with the max speed stuff. Might even be just as they've developed?

A little lighter than some of Kameari versions, however they do one thats nearly 200g lighter still. you do pay for it though.

That was with bolts, without bearings
