I thought the left was different to the right?

I'm sure Alan posted a picture on the forum somewhere of the measurements.

When i drove my car back from the docks the mirrors were perfect for me could see the cars in my blind spot ok.
Best to buy some and set them up for yourself near the specs

UK market documentation definitely says 2+2 NOT 2/2 , I'm perfectly willing to share an original datsun owners manual to prove this fellas

Think you might have missed the point slightly. The car in question is a Japanese market model, hence it is badged as a '2/2' and called a '2 by 2' in brochures, advertising and factory literature.

All Export market G-prefix versions were badged '2+2' and called '2 plus 2'.

Alright I will give you that one lol, every where else in the world it was a 2+2 just in JDM it was a 2/2 , correct?

You mention GS30 but is this not a GS31? Please enlighten me as I just don't understand the JDM market, sorry. One of the pictures Alan posted shows 3 2/2 cars and lists them as GS31 models. Yours is our equivalent (if there is one) shape 260z 2+2, yes?

Hedgehog's car is a '74 I believe, the S31/GS31 started in' 76. Imagine it a bit like the JDM version of the 280z 2+2.

Hedgehogdodger's car - the subject of this thread - is a GS30-D 'Fairlady Z-L 2/2'.

The switch to 'S31' prefixes (for the 2-seater 'S31' and 4-seater 'GS31' models) took place in July 1976. It was an administrative cut-off, essentially to mark the 'new' - updated - model type which conformed to new Japanese safety and emissions laws. Key point was the introduction of the 'NAPS' (Nissan Anti Pollution System) equipment on the engines, which was much more stringent than those before it and which paid particular attention to reducing NOx emissions to a level well below what the new Japanese laws allowed.

I don't know why people find all of this so confusing. Maybe its because of the tendency to think in the "equivalent to our..." way, and the mistaken idea that '240, 260, 280' progression covers all bases? To me it seem to be much more logical to think of all the different market models as part of a family, progressing in a linear fashion with new members being added along the way. The - largely American - thought process of '240Z first, replaced by 260Z, then 280Z' doesn't help matters.
