What model of Z are you referring to? I don’t believ the S30s have such a device.

I guess you have a 350Z / 370Z. There's no reason you can't "hotwire" (bypass) the switch if you'd like to.

Actually, just thinking this through a little more...

If this is a 370Z then I expect the switch is the same one used for SynchroRev so it would stop that working.

If you have SynchroRev turned off then I don't think it's an issue.
