After a few years of really not looking at it (house, kids, working abroad 50% of the time) then I've actually had the 500ZX out this year Must admit even with the issues I have I've been loving driving it. Forget what a wonderful thing a big capacity normally aspirated engine is.
So now I have to sort:
1) Issue with PRV in oil pump, misbehaves at ~5,500rpm. have some new springs to try from pace. Very annoying having the rev limit just when its coming on cam!
2) Swap the diff. I currently have a 2 way R230 which is waaay too harsh on the road and anyway, actually belongs to Rich Newton. Going to put a standard viscous R230 in for now then swap to my R33 GTR big flange R200 when I get a chance. Stock 300ZX TT gearing is a bit daft with 9k rev limit.
3) Swap the seats, cobra ones are too big on the base cushions to the point where I can't heel and toe as my knee hits the steering wheel!
4) Few minor leaks.
5) Find a better air filter solution / location.
