Capri v 240Z. Classic and Sports Car Mag

Thank you Steve.

It only just gets away with the accessories imo Rob.
Arthur, the first owner went nuts back in the 70's with add ons.
And it's a bit of museum piece really.
Never restored and genuinally like new.
60k genuine miles (service records include every journey made to a tenth of a mile!!)
Had some lovely trips out with the family this summer.
And the public love it.
Its Scratched the itch ......until the 240 arrives.

What 240 are you getting?

Just my own import that's been converted to rhd and restored.
It's been 3 years in the making and was meant to arrive from France this Wednesday BUT we've come accross some last minute issues on the car, so it's another waiting game unfortunately.
It wouldn't get much/any use over winter so not the end of the world.

'Tis a nice looking car. Factory look.
No mods.

That's a beauty. When living in Bristol (20 odd years ago). I had a 2.0 with vinyl roof. You could pick (a rough one) up for a few pounds. Mine was being used as a chicken shed by a local farmer, with straw and muck all over it! I stopped and had a chat and of course a few weeks later £50 changed hands. It came up bright yellow after I washed it. Wasn't expecting much but after a new exhaust and tyres it scraped through the MOT. Really enjoyed driving it, felt old school and reasonably powerful, but it was a 3 month stop gap between Z's. Better still I got £400 for it. Great memories.

Prior to owning my 260Z I ran a Ford Capri 280 Brooklands for five years - picture attached. I really enjoyed driving it, although I much prefer my Z. There was very little between them in terms of performance. The Datsun revs more freely, but I suspect the Capri was slightly quicker to 60.

Wyn, I wouldn't know if I would 'wake the beast' or 'break the poor girls heart' if I thrashed her down the strip.

The spoilt brat has been silver spooned all her life.
